Location
120 miles from London , 9 miles from Dorchester and about 15 miles from the coast. The journey from London takes about 2 ½ h and 2 h from Heathrow. Good train services run from Sherborne to Waterloo (2 h) and Dorchester to Waterloo (2 ½ h). Good sailing is available in Weymouth (20 mins) and most of the Dorset Coast can be accessed within a 30 min drive including the Purbecks, Lulworth, the Chesil Beach and Bridport. The towns of Sherborne (Sainsbury's) and Dorchester (Waitrose) are equidistant about a 15 min drive both with good shops and restaurants. Bournemouth is a 40 min drive and Bath and Exeter one hour.

Walking routes which cross the property include the Wessex Way. The walk to the Cerne Giant is less than 1 mile as the crow flies. The source of the stream, the Piddle, is a few hundred yards behind the Manor flowing from an aquifer originating near the Cerne Giant and meandering through the water meadows of the estate towards Piddletrenthide and Piddlehinton, the villages of the Piddle Valley. The public schools of Dorset such as Sherborne and Bryanston are short drives away.
